Today, Love Towers held its 14th annual resident appreciation luncheon to celebrate the seniors, disabled and near-elderly individuals living in the high-rise property managed by Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC).
“Serving lunch to the Love Towers residents is just one small way we can show our appreciation and support for the individuals who make up the Love Towers community,” KCDC Executive Director and CEO Ben Bentley said. “This annual luncheon helps residents keep connected with each other and with KCDC staff and is a good way to kick off the holiday season. We’re glad to have this opportunity.”
More than 120 residents attended the luncheon, which included multiple door prizes donated by local businesses and music and entertainment by Appalachian Annie.
“We are very appreciative of area businesses for their generous donations,” KCDC’s senior asset manager Steve Ellis said. “Belew Drugs donated five $50 gift cards. We also had sizeable donations from Ace Hardware and Fisher Tire, allowing us to offer some door prizes that residents appreciate and use throughout the year.”
