Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) has hired Ken Woodhouse as director of development and major gifts.

“Ken’s extensive nonprofit and development experience will help advance the efforts of key KCDC initiatives, such as raising philanthropic dollars for the Transforming Western neighborhood initiative,” KCDC Executive Director and CEO Ben Bentley said. “We look forward to his contribution to serving residents and the community and welcome him to the team.”
Woodhouse earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Illinois Chicago. He has more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently as senior associate to the president at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is pursuing the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
A native of Chicago, Woodhouse and his husband have been exploring their new city and renovating a home in South Knoxville since relocating in September 2023. He enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, biking and kayaking, is active in the congenital heart disease community and sings with the Appalachian Equality Chorus.
